Blue Cheese, The Little Milk Co., IRISH, 125g [BBE 11.10.2024]

This Organic Blue is a unique, strong flavoured and wonderfully creamy blue cheese. Made from pasteurised, un-homogenised organic milk from Fintan and Valerie Rice's herd with a mix of Montbeliard, Friesan and Norweigian Red cows, which are milked only once a day yeilding a wealthy, sweet and creamy milk. Make this in partnership with the most famous international award winning Irish blue cheese makers - Cashel Blue.  In 2018 they won 3 very prestigious awards for this cheese, the Coup de Coeur in Paris, GOLD in the World Cheese Awards and the National Organic Awards.

Pairing with wine -  Strong flavoured blues usually pair well with strong flavoured drinks, such as full bodied red wines and sweet dessert wines. But the diverse flavouring of this organic blue means its also fabulous paired with a port or even a gin. Our friends in Teelings recommend pairing with their lovely whiskey  but can also be great with one of the many great Irish Craft Beers, Pale Ales and a creamy stouts. 

As this is a soft cheese it should not be consumed when pregnant.
