This red leicester cheddar is a firm cheese with a slightly sweet taste and a slightly grainy structure. The cheese has matured for 3 to 4 months and has the well-known orange cheddar colour. The Alvis family, whose farm is just a few kilometres from the village of Cheddar, have been making Cheddar cheeses of the highest quality from milk from their own cows since 1952. Care for the environment, the employees and the education of school children is central to the company. This cheese tastes delicious on a cheese board.
